Local Science Events

Beneski Museum of Natural History at Amherst College

This is one of our favorite science places in the Pioneer Valley! It’s free, open to the public, and chock-full of beautiful specimens. It even has a Dire Wolf on display (hello, Game of Thrones fans!). The hours are Tue-Fri 11-4 and Sat-Sun 10-5.

Cambridge Science Festival scattered around Boston April 17-26

The organizers of this festival have packed so much science into 10 days! Go get a tour of the MIT nuclear reactor lab, solve a crime using DNA, or design and test your own underwater vehicle! Some events are free and some have an admission price.

Vernal Pool/Wetland Exploration with the Hitchcock Center April 25, 2-4pm

Join naturalist Charley Eiseman to explore the wetlands around Hampshire College during the peak of amphibian spring activity. Free, registration required.

Biothon with the Hitchcock Center May 1-10

Document local biodiversity while you help raise money for the Hitchcock Center’s educational classes. Sounds like a win-win to me!
