Title: Rats and Ritalin: Sex Differences in Attention
Some neurological disorders manifest differently depending on biological sex. Because science traditionally focuses on studying male organisms, we don’t yet understand the full picture in females. We can address these biases by supporting inclusive science and effective communication between researchers and the public. Come join us for a semester series of past science cafe members, starting with (soon to be Dr.) Emma Dauster. We will be discussing her research on brain differences across sexes and the necessity of clear and compelling science communication.
Emma is currently a PhD candidate at UMass Amherst studying how some neurological disorders manifest differently depending on biological sex.
