Title: Bee ecology: A look at carnivorous bees, and flowers’ role in disease transmission
In our very first Spanish Cafe, made in partnership with SACNAS (Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics & Native Americans in Science), we invite Dr. Laura Figueroa to come talk to us in her work with some unusual polinators.
Dr. Figueroa is currently an NSF Postdoctoral Research in Biology Fellow working with Dr. Lynn Adler at UMass Amherst and Dr. Katja Poveda at Cornell University. She completed her PhD at Cornell in Dr. Scott McArt’s lab in the Entomology department. And most recently she went viral talking about her work on carnivorous bees!
